Jason Killingsworth is a creative director, author and musician based in Dublin, Ireland.
He leads creative for the EU Publishing team at Riot Games, developer of League of Legends. Prior to that he spent over a decade covering music, film and video games for a variety of print and online publications (though not Variety per se). Past work includes magazine profiles of Scarlett Johansson, The National, The White Stripes, Jónsi (of Sigur Rós), filmmaker Christopher Guest and others. He's contributed arts commentary to BBC Radio 1, CNN, NPR and RTÉ.
The UK's Games Media Awards recognised him as Best Specialist Writer (Print) in 2013 for his work in Edge. While serving as features editor there he covered the launch of PlayStation 4, profiled game studios such as Bandai Namco and interviewed some of the industry's most influential developers (Naughty Dog, Ubisoft Montreal, FromSoftware) about the craft of video-game design.
He is the co-author of You Died: The Dark Souls Companion, published by BackPage Press. His second book, Perfuct, a memoir about creativity and the corrosive effects of perfectionism, will be published by Tune & Fairweather in 2019.
